Where to get inspiration for creating jewelry and more?
For every creator, inspiration is like air—creative work is impossible without it. Each of us sometimes seeks it, sometimes loses it, and sometimes finds it in completely unexpected places. But where do we find inspiration, how do we unleash our imagination, and how do we intrigue our minds to truly begin creating?
In a series of three posts, I will share my process with you:
-
Where do I get my inspiration from and where do I look for it?
-
How I implement the collected information and what tools I use
-
What does the process of designing and creating something completely new look like?
First sources of inspiration – from studies to nature
Let's start from the beginning, when my right brain hemisphere – supported by the left one working on calculations in college – began to capture information that later paid off in my creative work.
My studies at the University of Warsaw, my botany and geology classes, and above all, my field trips, ignited my passion for observing nature. Hiking through Biebrza National Park and nature reserves untouched by human hands was an experience that remains vivid to this day. It was nature—peat bogs, cranes flying overhead, dawn over a lake, or a raspberry glade—that shaped my sensitivity to beauty and provided immense inspiration for my jewelry designs.

Why does nature inspire creators?
Nature possesses a wealth of colors, forms, and textures that cannot be easily replicated. It's a challenge for a designer to try to capture even one hundredth of its beauty. Therefore, observing nature is not only a passion for me but also the foundation of my work.
Designers who want to push boundaries must keep their eyes open—not just when creating a specific project, but every day. Inspiration can lurk in a simple sunset, the texture of a leaf, or even the sounds of the world around them.
Beyond nature – other sources of inspiration
My inspiration doesn't stop at nature. I also draw inspiration from architecture, music, applied art, textiles, and even cookbooks. I'll be honest, Pinterest is also a huge source of inspiration, allowing me to quickly gather images and ideas in one place.

Get to know yourself and you will find your style
If you want to create, you must first know yourself. Only then can you begin to develop your style. A simple question can help: "Do I like this?"
You don't always have to write everything down or photograph it—sometimes it's enough to let the image linger in your mind. Inspiration isn't just a visual stimulus, but an entire experience. Like eating a Snickers bar—it's not just a single flavor, but a whole palette of sensations that come together to create a unique effect.
Summary
Inspiration is everywhere—in nature, architecture, and everyday situations. The key is to know ourselves and what truly sparks our imagination . In the next post, I'll show you how to gather all these stimuli into one place and transform them into tangible projects.
